Privacy

This page says exactly what the site stores about you, why it needs it, and how to make it go away. It is short because the site collects little.

What is stored

Your email address
Used to verify the account at sign-up and to identify you when signing in. It is never shown on your profile or to other members.
Your password
Not stored. What is stored is a scrypt hash with a salt unique to you, which cannot be turned back into your password.
What you write
Diary entries, ratings, reviews, lists, comments, predictions, favourites and who you follow. Most of this is public by design — that is what the site is for.
Profile details
Display name, username, bio, location and favourite club, if you fill them in. All optional except the name and username, and all public.

There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no profiling. Your IP address is not logged to a database.

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary, neither used for tracking:

  • fox_session — keeps you signed in. It holds a random token, not your details, and is readable only by the server. It expires after 30 days, or immediately when you sign out.
  • fox_locale — remembers whether you chose English or Turkish. Set only if you pick a language yourself.

Who else sees it

The email provider that delivers your sign-up code sees your address, because it has to in order to deliver the message. Nothing else is shared with anyone, sold, or handed to any third party.

Deleting your account

Settings has a Close your account option. It removes your account and everything attached to it — diary, reviews, ratings, lists, predictions, favourites and follows — immediately and permanently. There is no backup to restore from, and nothing is kept afterwards.

Your rights

Under GDPR and Turkey's KVKK you may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Deleting your account does the last of those instantly; for anything else, write to the address below.
